How To Fix Bad Breath

Do you know how to fix bad breath?  Are you aware that there are many simple things that you can do on a regular basis to help fix and even prevent bad breath from ever happening to you?  Here are some ways you can help to make sure that you will never have bad breath again.

Start With The Basics

You need to brush twice daily and floss once daily.  This is your first line of defense against bad breath and the first thing you want to look at if you have bad breath.  Make sure that you do a thorough job of brushing your teeth and that you do so for at least 2 minutes every time you brush.

Drink Water

A dry mouth is an invitation for bad breath.  Whether you have chronic dry mouth or if your mouth is just dry occasionally, a dry mouth means that you have less of the saliva that helps to keep bad breath causing bacteria in check.  Keep your mouth moist, and the odds that you will have bad breath will go down.

Eat Carbs

Low carb diets have been popular for some time now.  Anyone who is familiar with them should know that a diet consistently low in carbohydrates can contribute to bad breath.  You may have to adjust your diet, but if your bad breath comes from a lack of carb’s, then it’s an easy fix.

Check For Medical Conditions

If your bad breath seems to stick around no matter what you do then there could be a medical condition behind it.  You may not be able to figure this one on your own so you will want to ask your dentist about this possibility and then your doctor if necessary.  There are a number of conditions that can cause bad breath.  Working to fix the condition itself could in effect fix bad breath problem.

Dental Hygiene Beyond Brushing And Flossing

Brushing and flossing were mentioned earlier but you don’t have to stop there.  There are some mouth care systems that include brushing and flossing, but that also go beyond these basic essentials to help you fix bad breath and to give you a healthier mouth in the process.  The OraMD 4-Step Oral Hygiene Program is a 4 step program that works toward a healthy mouth and fresh breath for anyone who wants to take care of both of these concerns at the same time.
